I’ve neglected you guys for too long! I’ve been getting email notifications of new followers so I had to do an update. I picked up a second job about a month ago as the fitness coach and receptionist/sales rep at Bally Total Fitness. Absolutely love it! Not only does it keep my own fitness goals in check, but I meet great people everyday and have the best best best co-workers. We’re all so crazy and there’s never a such thing as TMI haha. I’ve been really busy with managing work there and at the pharmacy and making sure to get enough sleep for muscle recovery and whatnot from daily workouts. I did get a fancy new android though so i’ll be able to update tumblr on the go, unlike before.
Updates for fitblrs, I’ve cleaned up the diet even more. I train 7 days a week - leaving one day for light cardio and stretching. Also, went to my first fitness competition this weekend to support one of the trainers at the gym and it was amazing. She came in 3rd for the bikini division! I really recommend anyone who loves fitness to go to one. I could definitely see myself getting involved and anyone who has a little bit of knowledge and willpower can too. A few of the top fitness models that inspire me began at 250 pounds, AND have children. Like, come on.

…( “Cardio is necessary but as a fat burning tool it is highly overrated and inefficient. Most distance athletes, while they may be relatively thin, the consistency of their bodies usually isn’t desirable. I work with many distance athletes to help them increase lean body mass, and even though they aren’t what most would consider obese, many of them have body fats in the mid-20% range due to muscle atrophy from the high volume of aerobic training.”)

is that I think everyone knows how to lose weight. It’s just a matter of maintaining it and making it a way of life. We all know it makes us feel good after, but sometimes that’s still not enough to get us off the couch. Don’t make it a chore or a love/hate relationship. You’re not “bad” for not going or “good” for going.
I don’t count calories, minutes, ounces, nothing. I used to measure out my food, but now I just eye what a serving or tablespoon looks like. It’s crazy sauce. Don’t be a freak. Keeping track and doing extra steps made it feel like a “special” lifestyle and I would jump back to my comfort of microwaving frozen pizzas.
What works for someone else might not work for you. I know people who make things like zucchini bread, spicy turkey balls, and other fancy shmancy things that are pretty awesome, but that’s not practical for me everyday. I stick to a pretty key grocery list, and like to explore once in a while, but overall I know they’re meals I can easily put together.
4 days out of the week are scheduled gym classes I go to and I crave them. Especially cardio dance, which is pretty much the equivalent to dancing in a club. I love it so much better than Zumba cause we just literally rage. Really sexy moves and high intense cardio. Not to mention my instructor has a great sense of humor and shouts things like “OH YEAH I THINK JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE NEEDS A COUGAR!!” over her mic. Last week we went past the end of class and did burlesque moves to the Chicago soundtrack. Ahhhhmazing. I could talk about it forever, but the point is, I bet a class like spinning is calorie burning, but I’ve never tried it and probably won’t anytime soon.
Find what works for you, what makes you feel good and make it life long.

Kettlebells are my favorite and very easy to incorporate. Couple sets of this routine after 30 min on the eliptical and everything is on fire.
